Project Background
Air conditioner angle valves are critical components in the production of all types of air conditioners. Small in size and produced in high volumes, their loading and positioning directly affects line takt time and assembly quality. Conventional manual loading is inefficient, with accuracy difficult to guarantee, and cannot keep pace with large-scale production. The DexForce Technology Spatial and Embodied Intelligence Suite, powered by the DexVerse® engine, automates the loading of air conditioner angle valve workpieces.
Project Challenges
- Small valve diameter leaves few features to image, demanding high positioning accuracy.
- Cramped surroundings leave the robot arm and tooling prone to interference.
- Manual loading is inefficient, with accuracy difficult to guarantee.
Workflow
Application Advantages
● High-precision imaging of small parts with clearly distinguishable features: the high-precision 3D camera fully images small, high-precision parts such as angle valves, reproducing fine features consistently.
● Advanced vision algorithms for precise positioning: advanced vision algorithms rapidly and accurately locate angle valves, delivering visual positioning accuracy of ±0.6mm and a vision recognition takt time of ≤2.8s.
● Interference-free grasping in confined spaces: mature obstacle-avoidance algorithms plan interference-free paths that keep the gripper clear of surrounding tooling.
Application Results
The DexForce Technology DexVerse® Spatial and Embodied Intelligence Suite helped the customer automate the angle valve loading station. The manual loading step was replaced while positioning accuracy and production takt time improved in step. The line shifted from reliance on manual labor to stable, continuous operation, supporting the intelligent transformation of home appliance manufacturing.
