TV Port Inspection

Published: 2026.10.28Industry: Appliance ManufacturingDeployment Location: Qingdao, China

Project Background

In home appliance plants, assembled TVs go through quality inspection before packing. Operators insert fixture plugs into the USB, HDMI, and power ports by hand, and dedicated equipment then verifies that each port works correctly.

Customer Challenges

Manual fixture insertion is slow and inconsistent in quality.
Wide TV variety, small ports, and demanding takt time and accuracy.

Workflow

DexForce 3D cameras capture the USB, HDMI, and power ports of each TV stopped on the conveyor, outputting complete, high-quality 3D point clouds. Embodied AI algorithms then segment the targets and estimate 6D poses, selecting the optimal grasp target and guiding an industrial robot to insert the matching fixture into the port for quality inspection.

Advantages

Sub-millimeter positioning. Repeatability of ±0.5mm meets the accuracy required for TV port positioning.
Takt time. Port positioning in as little as 1.5s, matching high-speed production.

Results

With the DexForce spatial and embodied intelligence kit, the inspection station now operates fully unmanned, with improved line stability and gains in both yield and takt time.
